Hurricanes in Mesoamerica
The Atlantic Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30 and carries with it the most devastating events in the Western Hemisphere. In collaboration with our partners, the SERVIR team offers a variety of Realtime and near-real time products that relate to weather, climate, flooding, sea-surface temperature, and other factors pertaining to both predicting, monitoring, and responding to hurricanes. In addition, the SERVIR Data Portal and SERVIR-VIZ tools offer access to live map services and downloadable data pertaining to landslide susceptibility, population centers, transportation routes, and other critical information for disaster response and mitigation.
Click on the Real Time Image Viewer to view the latest weather information from the GOES-12 satellite, short-term forecasts, and NowCasts. Search the SERVIR Data Portal for the key words "Disasters," "Hurricanes," and/or "Weather" to view and download related data. Download SERVIR-VIZ to overlay multiple weather products along with information dynamic flood updates, landslide susceptibility, transportation routes, and other pertinent information.
